A new gauge of performance for stretch film packages. Filmco Premium Dual-Layer Films are sustainable stretch food wraps that consume less materials to manufacture while reducing spoilage. Premium Dual-layer films use 15-20% LESS MATERIAL than conventional mono-layer films while providing improved performance.
Reducing Our
Environmental Footprint
PVC food wrap is still the preferred package for lengthening the shelf-life of fresh foods. It utilizes more renewal materials and requires less energy to manufacture than other plastic food packaging. PVC also has the lowest manufactured scrap of any plastic as nearly 100% of materials used in manufacture is processed into usable film.
Filmco Premium Dual-Layer films are a result of our research and development for environmentally sustainable films. Dual-layer films are focused on waste prevention also known as "source reduction" (1), which directly reduces waste by consuming less material compared to conventional single-layer films.
Premium Dual-Layer films offer enhanced performance and environmental benefits:
- while saving 15-20% of raw materials which would reduce an estimated 93 million pounds (2) of plastic from entering recycling or solid waste treatment
- by providing multi-layer overlap which is more effective in preserving fresh food than single-layer films at thicker gauges

Improved Performance
Reduced Waste Stretch Films
Filmco Premium Dual-Layer Films are engineered to be a thinner, lighter, higher performance package that utilize two layers of film to maintain freshness and improve product integrity. Premium Dual Layer films provide food packers, retailers and food service:
- greater strength, stretch, tear and puncture resistance
- tamper proof packages
- higher yield per roll
- improved semi-automatic and automatic wrapping machinability
- increased throughput
- lower material costs
- reduced changeovers
- low-temp blast freezing
Dual-Layer Premium films are available for case-ready automatic, high-speed packaging of all products and tray sizes including:
- Ground Beef
- Meats
- Produce
- Mushrooms
- Bone-in cuts
- Sausage
- Marinated and seasoned foods
- Kabobs
- Blast Freezing
1) The EPA defines source reduction as “any change in the design, manufacture, purchase, or use of materials or products (including packaging) to reduce their amount or toxicity before they become municipal solid waste. Source reduction also refers to the reuse of products or materials. http://www.epa.gov/msw/sourcred.htm
